Korean Air to keep passengers' winter coats

In winter, travelers heading to Southeast Asian countries and other warm climate destinations are weighed down with the extra baggage of the overcoats they wear to Incheon International Airport. In most cases, they have no choice but to carry them in a suitcase for the whole journey. But not anymore for those who fly with Korean Air.

The country’s largest flagship carrier said Thursday that it will open a cloakroom on the third floor of the passenger terminal near check-in counter A on Dec. 1.

The service will be provided through Feb. 29, 2012. The coat room will be operated by Hanjin Logistics and can store up to 3,000 coats.

Korean Air passengers will be able to check in their overcoats or jumpers and jackets, one per person, from 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. for up to five days free of charge. After five days, customers will be charged 2,500 won per day.

“We expect travelers heading to Southeast Asia, Guam, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and other warm countries will take advantage of the cloakroom. We think at least 25,000 customers will benefit from this new service,” a Korean Air spokesman said.

Namdaemun Market, located in the very center of Seoul, is the biggest traditional market in Korea selling children's clothing, men & women's clothing, daily miscellaneous goods,kitchenware and local and imported products. Most shops have their own factories and make the products themselves offering both wholesale and retail prices which enable visitors to purchase various shopping items at extremely inexpensive prices. Foreign visitors to Namdaemun Market show different tastes: the Japanese are more into foods like gim (seaweed), gimchi, and ginseng, while the Chinese show interest in clothing and miscellaneous goods. The main street of Insadong, running from Anguk station to Jongno3ga station, is swarming with artistic shops,antique stores and trendy galleries. Surprisingly, the main street used to be a small stream, lined by crowded walkways. In the Joseon era, the Dohwaseo, a government agency in charge of arts and paintings, was located here; naturally, plenty of stores that sold brushes, ink, pigments and paper were located in Insa-dong, as they are today.

Many shoppers enter the Yongsan Terminal Mall through the connection between Yongsan Terminal Mall and I’PARK MALL. As soon as you leave Yongsan Station or I’PARK MALL through the 3rd floor entrance, just follow the crowd of people and you’ll reach the connecting entrance to the 3rd floor of Yongsan Terminal Mall. The Terminal shops mostly sell computer related products.

Najin Mall is divided into ten blocks, beginning with Block 10. Block 17 and 20 are located on the second and third floors, and sell all computer related products. Phase 1 of the Airport Railroad Expressed (AREX) opened on March 23, 2007. Currently operating between Incheon International Airport and Gimpo Airport, it takes about 33 minutes by commuter train. Hotel SKY is located 5 minutes distance from Unseo subway station. Now Only Phase 1 is in operation, so you will need to transfer to Seoul Subway Line 5 at Gimpo Airport in order to go to downtown Seoul. but the Phase 2 of the AREX, which will run all the way from Incheon International Airport to Seoul Station downtown, will be completed by 29th DEC 2010.

Incheon International Airport Station of AREX is located on the first underground level of the Transportation Center at Incheon International Airport. Free electric cart service is available for passengers with heavy baggage, senior citizens, and the disabled. Service hours: 7:00~21:00 (365 days a year) Hotel SKY provides free pick-up service from Incheon Airport and also from the Unseo Subway station. 'Seollengtang' That is the main menu here but there is also Barbeque, Kimchi stew, Soybean stew and Bulgogi which is the most famous local dishes.

Voila ! This is Seoulleongtang !!
A mild soup made from various cuts of meat in which rice is mixed.

Kimchi is the best accompanying side dish with Seolleongtang.

韓国式バーベキューもしている有名なチェーン店です.
私たちホテル職員たちもよく行って食べます. ^^

私たちはメニューの一番の上にある 'ソルロンタン'を注文しました. 6,000ウォンです. 価格もチープです.土鍋プルコギも 6,000ウォンの外にしないですね.キムチチゲ(鍋)は 5,000ウォン. 三枚肉は 1人前に 10,000ウォンです. 内部もきれいでおいしいです.

ソルロンタンとキムチが出ます. (ソルロンタンの味を見た後に, 塩で味を合わせます.) ご飯をソルロンタン中に入れて一緒に食べれば韓国人スタイルでありますね! ^^キムチとともに食べれば最高です! あ....またお腹がすいていますよね.

本当においしいです.

The atmospher here in Seoul's commercial heart is electric. Myeong-dong Cathedral and the Bank of Korea Museum add a touch of history. Things to Do
Myeong-dong is one of Seoul's premier shopping districts. It's a neighborhood of bright lights and infectious energy. There are the finest department stores, including Lotte B1,B2 and Shinsegae B3, and countless high-end and international retail shops. Myeong-dong's main drag is where most of the international name brands can be found, while more mid-range brands are in the back alleys. One good place to try is Codes Combine C3(776-6385) which specialized in trendy casual fashions. Tons of coffee shops and restaurants are to be found,too. For a very different shopping experience, head to Namdaemun Market A3, Seoul's most famous outdoor traditional market, where you can find good deals on many kinds of product.

Namdaemun Market] Located near Sungnyemun Gate, Namdaemun Market is one of Seoul's two largest traditional markets. It specializes in clothing, herbs and herbal medicines like ginseng, eyeglasses and curios. The night market is when the best buys can be had. Don't forget to haggle! Seoul's best camera market is nearby. Wholesalers operate from midnight to 6am, and retailers are open from 7am to 5pm. Closed on Sundays.

A great place to have kalguksu, this Myeong-dong institution has been around since 1966. Nothing fills you up like a serving of kalguksu and dumplings, or mandu.

Try a nice Korean banquet meal in a traditional hanok setting. As you eat, a female perfomer wearing traditional Korean dress plays the gayageum, a traditional Korean string instrument, while singing.

Galchi Jorim Alley A3
In Namdaemun Market, there's an alley specializing in the market's specialty, galchi jorim(a spicy stew of boiled hairtail fish). It's a dish best served with a bowl of milky Korean rice wine, makgeolli.

Good overnight stay at Incheon
Hotel was very reasonably priced in an area that offers a variety of dining selections. Definitely would stay here again.

Fine hotel with truel outstanding, helpful staff
We could not have more praise for a Hotel and it's staff members than we have for SKY Hotel. It's a 10 minute complimentary shuttle ride hoourly between the Sky Hotel and the airport--which is a bus, taxi,train and tour transportation hub to places throughout Korea. We speak only English and knew nothing about transportation alternatives in Korea. The SKY Hotel staff members could not have been more considerate and helpful in getting information for us, making suggestions, writing directions for us in English and for taxi drivers and tour guides in Korean, and doing everything they possibly could to ensure we enjoyed our stay in Korea. The Hotel shuttle drivers drove us back and forth to the airport as we wished and made certain we were delivered to the correct bus or location. The room was cleaned and provided with fresh ironed linen and the refrigerator was stocked with bottled water each day. The cable TV and BBC and CNN channels in English, and there was both complimentary computers available that guests could use and wireless connections. Coffee is always available in the lobby, and there is a Donkin Donut shop a few doors down the street from the Hotel. There are excellent inexpensive Korean restaurants, groceries, fast food shops, a department store and the metro rail station within a few minutes walk fro the Hotel. The Sky Hotel is an excellent, modestly priced place, well located facility for a casual traveler in Incheon.
The USO in Seoul offers inexpensive tours to the DMZ and Panmunjom where the military provides MP guides through the UN peace conference buildings. The tours also provide an opportunity to explore one of the North Korean invasion tunnels which South Korea discouvered under the DMZ.

Convenient for overnight stays near lntl Airport
Cute hotel close to the Metro Station & Lotte Mart. Super-convenient to the airport...free shuttle service to/from Incheon lntl. It takes about an 1 to 1.5 hours via metro to get to Seoul's hotspots but otherwise easy to get there and back. I recommend for overnight stays or a couple of nights if proximity to airport is important.Traveler's tip on shopping
Lotte Mart a few blocks away has everything you may need including food, travel articles, clothes, etc. It's like a big Target...नीचे

Ok for budget.The bed is very firm. Uncomfortable to sleep on at first, but your back feels great the next morning! Small elevator though, but kind, hospitable staff of course. Overall, okay if you like the price.

空港近く/ 夜遅く空港に着いたのですが、連絡をしたらすぐに迎えに来てくれました。しかも私一人のために.ホテルの周りにはコンビニやレストランなどがたくさんあり、朝食をつけていなかった私も困ることがありませんでした。従業員の方もとても親切で、よかったです。

短期滞在に適したホテル. 11月終わりに利用し、1度くらいの気温だったが、オンドルだったので、暖房要らずで暖かかった。リニューアル済みなのか、トイレなどもピンクを多用してあり、かわいらしかった。 1つのリモコンでエアコンやテレビ・照明の調整が出来たのには多機能過ぎて驚いた. 空港のインフォメーションでホテル名を伝えると、ピックアップの送迎車を呼んでくれます。インフォメーションに？と最初は不安でしたが、合っていました。無料ですので、ぜひ、利用してみてください

This hotel is only about ten minutes away from the incheon airport. There is a free airport shuttle on the 3rd floor on exit 7 at the second lane of traffic looking outwards. Just get one of the girls from the info counter next to the exit to call and arrange a pickup for you, then wait for the airport transfer person to come to you. Very conveinient.

I book this hotel as i was traveling from Cheonan to Incheon Airport and as my flight was early and not favorable weather, i opt to stay near the hotel। Took a bus from cheonan to incheon airport and upon reaching, head to information counter and ask for their help to call hotel to arrange for free pick up. Waited for 10min and the pickup driver arrive. Stayed over night and for the price that i was paying, i'm very satisfied with the room and facilities. Will stay again during my next trip.
